SPECTATING AT THE DOWN RALLY... Our aim is to provide for a safe and enjoyable time at the event for everyone. Please follow these simple guidelines and follow the guidance of identifiable Officials and Marshals at all times. Although we refer to Spectators these notes apply to everyone around the Rally including spectators, residents, media, photographers, service crews, competitors when not in their vehicle and officials when not carrying out their defined duties. SPECTATOR SAFETY Watching a live motor sport event is a thrilling experience and one of the best ways for fans to get close to the action, experiencing the sport’s sights, sounds and smells first-hand. The event organisers strive to keep spectators safe but ultimately all spectators are responsible for their own personal safety. Here are some tips that spectators should remember at the Down Rally:
Balmoral Park – The Eikon Centre The heart of the event is at the Eikon exhibition centre in Balmoral Park where the teams can be seen close up servicing their highly tuned machinery. Close by you can see the cars at speed through the twists and turns of the spectator special stage in the showgrounds with good viewing options for families and great disabled access. Public toilets and hot food are available in the Service Area and there is a grandstand for the best views. Special Stages We have selected some great viewing points on the Special Stages that are highlighted Official Programme (Click Here for Programme Outlet details) These are the best viewing areas that are easily accessible by road and foot. They allow spectators vantage points to easily view the cars in the stages. Some also offer additional facilities such as toilets and catering. |
