More young enthusiasts can't wait for down rally action...
07 June 2018
Beautiful sunshine greeted the Carryduff Forklift Down Rally crew when they arrived at Annahilt Primary School, along with GoMotorsport's Regional Development Officer, Jonathan McDonald. The morning was the second of two primary school visits organised to highlight the importance of safety in motorsport to the children living on and close to the stages of our event.
We have again been left astounded by the level of questions asked and depth of understanding children of this age have in the the workings of an engine as well as the aerodynamics of a competition car. A discussion that started about a manifold from a Formula One car, changed to the technicalities of an engine before moving on to include the pros and cons of electric and hybrid vehicles.
We would like to thank the Principal, Mr. Reid and teaching staff at Annahilt Primary for allowing us to make a noisy entrance to their playground this morning and we feel quite confident saying that if the young people we met today are anything to go by, then the future of motorsport is definitely in safe hands.
