The Carryduff Forklift Down Rally due to take place on Saturday 23rd July will run as a counting round of the McGrady Insurance Northern Ireland Rally Championship and the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship.
Andy Gilmore commented, "as Clerk of the Course I am delighted not only by the number of entries we have received, but also by the large number of teams who will travel to Lisburn from all corners of the UK and Ireland.
"I feel the accessibility of Lagan Valley Island, right in the heart of Lisburn City, will prove to be a great base for competitors and spectators travelling to the event."
Deputy Clerk of the Course, Brian Crawford talked us through the entry list.
"The entry this year really is star studded in the rallying world. Running first on the road is Jonny Greer who is hoping to secure his third Northern Ireland Championship win. Stephen Wright running second on the road is also a former NI Champion, and Derek McGarrity, a multiple NI Championship winner rounds of the top five.
"The Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship is well represented and we are delighted to see such interest coming from across the water, but local interest lies in the hands of guys like Stuart Biggerstaff, Kyle White Jonny Cargo and Michael McGarrity. Also great to see Darren Gass back out on the stages after a few years away.
"Another interesting one to watch will be the winners of last weekends Loughgall Country Park Rally, Aaron McLaughlin. We have seeded Aaron at 17, with Damian Toner who was runner up in Loughgall running ahead of him at 16. It'll be interesting to see how that one pans out.
"We have great support running this event from both clubs, but it's also great to see club members like Paul Killen and John Magilton on the entry list. Another club member Fintan McGrady has moved to a historic car, great to see him out.
"The Creighton's have made it a family affair with current Junior WRC contender William seeded at 15 and his dad Niall at 117. It's interesting to see William hasn't named his co-driver yet, as we have received an entry from Liam Regan who normally fills that seat. Liam has entered a Skoda Estelle, and we wish him all the best come the 23rd.
"Crowd pleaser Allan Mackay will make the journey from Brora in the Scottish Highlands with the little blue Anglia, and we wish him and everyone else a safe journey to Lisburn. We look forward to welcoming you all in a couple of weeks."
The event programmes will be in the shops in the next few days, and we ask anyone needing more information about the event or interested in marshalling, to contact us via our social media.
